Edna Imade once again proved why it might only be a matter of time before she gets an invitation to the Super Falcons, as she continues to impress for Real Sociedad in the women’s top division in Spain.
The Moroccan-born striker of Nigerian roots ended Barcelona’s winning streak in the league on Sunday afternoon.
Despite Barcelona’s dominance for the rest of the match, the champions could not breach the defense of the host.
Imade’s penalty in the 37th minute made the difference as Real Sociedad recorded a famous win over the reigning champions.
Her win not only handed Barcelona’s first loss of the season but also marked the champions’ first defeat on the road since May 2023, and the first time they’ve failed to score in a league match since January 2020.
Meanwhile, Super Falcons coach, Justin Madugu, has revealed that Edna Imade has shown interest in playing for Nigeria but is yet to make up her mind with as the player is also eligible to play for reigning World champions, Spain, and recent WAFCON finalist, Morocco.
