They messed up! – Zimbabwe cocah mocks Super Eagles World Cup chances

Ahead of Tuesday’s FIFA World qualifier against Nigeria coach of Zimbabwe Micheal Nees took a dig at the Super Eagles.

Michael Nees says the Super Eagles messed up their chances after a very disastrous start to the World Cup qualifiers.

However, he added that Nigeria will be a very tough opponent – more tougher than Benin Republic who they secured a two-all draw against last Thursday.

He also alluded to the fact that the Super Eagles have superior quality in terms of personeels the team parades.

I think it’s going to be a great experience for us to see what we can do in the second half days to go, looking forward for the game, nice stadium, you see in the background, we haven’t been inside yet, but Benin was really strong, but now Nigeria, you see, it’s halfway through the campaign, and Nigeria from the individual areas, from the names, it’s top class, absolutely top class, and they messed their campaign at the beginning really up.

There’s the third coach now involved in this campaign. They won now in Rwanda, which was for them all. They’re always a little bit difficult opponent, really.

So they will come now with confidence and with all their power and all what they want to turn this campaign around, so do we. But it will be an exciting game. We have to perform to our maximum, for sure.

Nevertheless, Michael Nees says his team won’t be afraid to take on the Super Eagles and will approach the game with the aim to win.

We can expect real tough opponent giving everything, but we have to also give everything, and we will. They must accept the challenge, that the climate, the pace, the conditions, they must accept the challenge and enjoy it. You mustn’t be afraid of anything.

There’s no reason for it. We can play football.
We will analyze the opponent. We will analyze our game. They give instructions, and they can believe in themselves. They don’t need to be of anything being nervous or whatsoever.

They showed it already many times.
They are very good players, very good characters, and I’m really looking forward to this game. That will be a real football match. I don’t know how many spectators, but it could be 30,000.

I haven’t been inside the stadium yet, so I don’t know how many seats. But it would be a real nice football game every player likes to play.

The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium will host the crucial World Cup qualifier on Tuesday as the Super Eagles look to wrap up the March window of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
