President Bola Ahmed Tinubu welcomed Nigerian-born American football star Morotoluwa “Moro” Ojomo to the State House in Abuja on Friday.

Ojomo, a defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, recently played a pivotal role in his team’s victory at Super Bowl LIX, where the Eagles triumphed over the Kansas City Chiefs with a score of 40-22 on February 9, 2025, in New Orleans.

During the meeting, President Tinubu lauded Ojomo’s dedication and achievements, emphasizing the significance of his display of the Nigerian flag during the Super Bowl celebrations.

The President noted that such moments rekindle national pride and serve as an inspiration to many. He encouraged Ojomo to mentor Nigerian youths, stating, “With the kind of focus that you have, you can mentor many youths here and develop them.”

Ojomo, who moved to the United States at the age of seven, expressed his desire to give back to his homeland. He proposed the establishment of a talent hub in Nigeria to provide opportunities for young athletes to pursue education and sports careers abroad. Ojomo highlighted Nigeria’s abundant talent and emphasized the importance of education in empowering the youth.
