Genk striker Tolu Arokodare showed off his Yoruba Language skills as he asked for support from the fans ahead of the match against Rwanda.
Arokodare spoke with Nigerian journalist Adepoju Tobi Samuel after Wednesday’s training session in Kigali.
When asked to speak with the fans in Yoruba Language, the 24-year-old striker laughed and went ahead to say, “A fe ki e support wa, ki e wa leyin wa.” – ” We want you (fans) to support us and behind us.”
Tolu Arokodare admitted he was nervous when he arrived on Monday but has settled well. He also says the rest of the squad have helped him settle into camp.
“It’s a really amazing feeling, nice atmosphere, nice guys…I was really nervous when I came but now I am doing pretty fine, I am okay”
“Pretty well, they have welcomed me very well and they have all been supportive on and off the pitch…”
Arokodare also spoke on the training sessions and what coach Eric Chelle wants from the boys in every phases of the match when they take on Rwanda.
Tolu Arokodare will look to make his debut on Friday or on Tuesday against Zimbabwe. The striker has been in brilliant form for Genk this season with 19 goals in 35 matches.
