Tough day for Ndidi, Leicester in Brentford defeat

Wilfred Ndidi was unable to rescue Leicester City as they plunged to a 4-1 defeat away to Brentford on Saturday evening.

The Super Eagles man was in action for all 90 minutes as his side fell to their third successive Premier League defeat.

It all looked like things were going Leicester’s way as Jamie Vardy squared the ball for Federico Buonanotte to convert at the back post in the 21st minute. Brentford, however, responded quickly in the 25th minute through Yoane Wissa tapped in the ball after a perfectly weighted pass from Kevin Schade.

Schade became the star of the show as he doubled the hosts’ lead just four minutes later, slamming home a deflected pass that fell into his path. Schade scored his second of the evening just before half time to compound Leicester’s woes.

Brentford remained on the front foot after the restart as Schade struck again, latching onto a pass by Nathan Collins to slide the ball past Mads Hermansen to complete his hat-trick and seal all three points.

The defeat presents Leicester’s newly appointed manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy with a difficult task of turning the club’s fortunes around.
