Manchester United’s pursuit of Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo is at risk of being derailed by Tottenham Hotspur’s interest, according to reports.
Spurs appointed Thomas Frank, Mbeumo’s former Brentford manager, as their head coach this week after the sacking of Ange Postecoglou.
United’s initial offer for the Cameroon international, who scored 20 goals in the 2024/25 season, was rejected, with Brentford holding firm at a £60 million valuation.

The Red Devils are set to return with an improved bid, but Frank’s move to Tottenham could sway Mbeumo, who is reportedly intrigued by the prospect of reuniting with his ex-boss in North London.
United have offered a £200,000-a-week deal, but Tottenham’s interest, bolstered by Frank’s influence, poses a serious threat.
Spurs must decide whether to match United’s financial package to secure the 26-year-old’s signature. Mbeumo’s flair and goal-scoring ability are crucial for United’s attack, but Tottenham’s pull could jeopardize the Red Devils’ plans.
