Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq will undergo his medical today ahead of his loan move from Real Sociedad to Valencia.
The lanky striker is set to join Valencia on a six-month loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
Umar Sadiq has struggled to impress since joining Real Sociedad from UD Almeria in the 2022/2023 season, after helping Almeria secure promotion to the Spanish La Liga as champions of the Segunda Division.
Sadiq was instrumental in Almeria’s promotion, scoring 18 goals in 36 matches.
However, Umar Sadiq has been unable to replicate that form for Real Sociedad two years after his arrival at the club.
He scored on his debut for the club in a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid.
Unfortunately, the striker suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in a La Liga fixture against Getafe, which sidelined him for the entire 2022/2023 season.
The 27-year-old striker returned the following season, featuring 36 times across all competitions and scoring three goals.
The Super Eagles striker has struggled to pin down a starting role under coach Imanol Alguacil Barrenetxea but has managed 11 appearances this season.
Umar Sadiq will hope to overcome his struggles at Real Sociedad and embrace a new challenge at Valencia.
