Super Eagles new invitee Femi Azeez marked his debut for Nigeria on a fantastic note on Tuesday night in the Unity Cup match against Zimbabwe.
The 24-year-old Millwall forward bagged a brace – a goal in each half to help the Super Eagles begin their title defence on a winning note.
Azeez got the opener in the fifth minute as he powered a left-footed strike into the bottom corner off a lay off from the edge of the box.
He sealed his brace a few minutes after the hour mark as he got to the end of Tarem Moffi’s square pass into the box tapping the ball into the opposite direction of the goalkeeper.
Femi Azeez was on for 9 minutes as he secured maximum points and a clean sheet for Eric Chelle’s men as they progressed to the final of the mini competition.
The Super Eagles will face the winner of the Jamaica-India match in Saturday’s final as they look to defend the trophy they won last summer.
