Victor Olatunji’s Sparta Prague have crashed out of the UEFA Champions League after the Czech Republic side fell to a narrow loss to Inter Milan.
Sparta Prague had moments in front of goal but Yann Sommer was spectacular on the night to thwart the goal threats.
Lautaro Martinez met Alessandro Bastoni’s crooss into the box with a snap shot which landed at the back of the net to give the visitors the lead.
Veljko Birmancevic came close to scoring on two occasions but Yan Sommer made fantastic saves to deny the Serbian striker.
Birmancevic went down in the box from a challenge but the referee waved play on as the home side sought for an equalizer.
Denzel Dumfries pounced on a loose ball from Sparta Prague’s box to double the lead but his goal was ruled out by VAR for offisde in the build-up.
While Lautaro Martinez wasted a glorious effort, Sparta Prague’s goalkeeper Peter Vindahl pulled off a brilliant save to deny Davide Fratessi’s strike at goal.
Inter Milan left the Czech Republic capital unscatted as they book their ticket for the last sixteen of the competition.
