Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been ruled out of the team’s November fixtures after sustaining a left knee injury during Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League encounter against VfB Stuttgart.
Galatasaray confirmed the development in an official statement, revealing that MRI scans conducted on the Nigerian forward showed a strain in his left knee as well as a loose body.
According to the Turkish club, Osimhen is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery tomorrow at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital, with Galatasaray’s club doctor, Yener İnce, set to perform the procedure.
The 27-year-old has consequently been withdrawn from Galatasaray’s squad for their upcoming fixture against Amed S.F.
His absence is also a setback for the Super Eagles, who will be without one of their key attacking players for the November international engagements.
Osimhen will now undergo surgery as he begins his recovery from the injury.
