Osimhen and the transfer window

Osimhen was a target for several clubs during the previous transfer season.

He extended his contract with Napoli last December through to 2026 with a stated release clause of 130 million euros.

Premier League giants Chelsea and the Saudi team Al-Ahli were reportedly interested in signing the striker.

Napoli has acquired the option to extend Osimhen’s contract through 2027 in a calculated move.

Osimhen is not included in the 23-man Serie A roster for the current season and now will have a new opportunity in Turkey.

At Galatasaray, Osimhen will wear the number 45 jersey on loan.

Osimhen transfers

Osimhen transferred to German team Wolfsburg in 2017 for 3.5 million euros following his heroics in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

He spent two seasons playing on loan for Charleroi, a Belgian team, where he made an impression with 20 goals and 4 assists in 36 games.

He transferred for 22.4 million euros to the French team Lille for the 2019–20 season, where he maintained his elite play, tallying 18 goals in 38 games and dishing out six assists.

He was dealt for 77.5 million euros to Napoli, the team where he would have the biggest career breakthrough.

After a season of adjustment to the competition, Osimhen emerged victorious with Napoli scoring 26 goals to take the top scorer award.
