Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca believes his team showed enough in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal to give him full confidence in the project and their ability to compete.
Both sides started the game in tepid fashion before growing into it and after Gabriel Martinelli broke the deadlock in the second half, Chelsea got into the flow of things.
Pedro Neto scored his first league goal of the season, and the Blues looked the likelier team to grab an equaliser.
Maresca was satisfied with his team’s performance against a side he evidently respects.
He stated that his team showed they could compete against any team.
“We can compete, I’ve said that many times. We can compete, no matter what the competition.
“Despite the fact there are clubs, like Arsenal, that have had the same manager for five years.
‘We are behind, but this doesn’t mean we aren’t going to compete. We are Chelsea and we are going to compete in every game.
