Cristiano Ronaldo shared an emotional tribute to Liverpool star Diogo Jota, who tragically died at 28 in a car accident alongside his younger brother, André Silva.
The accident occurred when their vehicle veered off the A-52 highway in Zamora, Spain, near Palacios de Sanabria, and burst into flames, with the fire spreading to nearby vegetation.

The tragedy struck just two weeks after Jota married his long-term partner, Rute Cardoso, in Portugal.
Tributes have poured in following Liverpool’s confirmation of Jota’s passing.
Ronaldo, Jota’s teammate on the Portuguese national team, posted a heartfelt message on X:
“It doesn’t make sense. Just now we were together in the national team, just now you got married. To your family, your wife, and your children, I send my condolences and wish them all the strength in the world.

I know you will always be with them. Rest in Peace, Diogo and André. We will all miss you.”
Jota made 182 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 65 goals during his time with the club, contributing to their Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup triumphs.
