West Ham United are reportedly considering a move for Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi, as new manager Graham Potter seeks to bolster his attacking options.
Awoniyi, who has struggled to secure regular playing time at Forest, could provide a much-needed boost to West Ham’s frontline.
With Michail Antonio ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a broken leg, West Ham are in the market for a target man.
Awoniyi joined Forest in July 2022 for a club record £17 million, and the Hammers believe he could be an ideal replacement for Antonio.
Chris Wood is Forest’s preferred striker these days, limiting the Nigerian striker to just two of 15 league games and scoring only one goal.
Despite this, West Ham see potential in Awoniyi and are willing to give him a fresh start.
Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has praised Awoniyi, but whether the striker has a long-term future at the club remains to be seen.
