Germany booked their place in the quarter-finals of UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 with a hard-fought 2–1 win over Denmark in Basel.
After going behind early to a composed finish from Amalie Vangsgaard in the 26th minute, the Germans responded with a dominant second-half display.
Sjoeke Nüsken converted from the penalty spot in the 56th minute after a handball was spotted by VAR, before Lea Schüller powered home a header ten minutes later to complete the turnaround.
The win sees Germany move to six points from two matches, joining Sweden in the last eight.
Later in the evening in Lucerne, Sweden continued their flawless group-stage campaign with a commanding 3–0 victory over Poland. Filippa Angeldahl opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a clever finish from the edge of the area.

Kosovare Asllani extended the lead midway through the second half, and Fridolina Rolfö Hurtig sealed the result in the 77th minute after a swift counterattack.
Sweden, already qualified before the match, showcased their depth and efficiency, finishing the group stage with nine points and three clean sheets.
Poland, like Denmark, exit the tournament without a point, while Germany and Sweden advance to the knockout rounds as Group C’s top two.
