3 reasons why Inter Milan can end Arsenal’s unbeaten run

Champions League football returns this week with a couple of tasty matches to look forward to as teams hope to solidify their spots for automatic qualification or fight for a playoffs spot.

Inter Milan are one of those teams looking to secure automatic qualification into the round of 16 as they welcome Arsenal to the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Nerazurri are looking to bounce back from two consecutive defeats as they welcome Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal who have a 100% record with eight wins from eight matches.

Arsenal go into the tie as favourites given their imperious from so far in the competition and their uneaten record in 11 matches across all competitions.

However, Inter Milan are two places away from dropping into the playoffs zone and would ride on the confidence of their win over the Gunners at the same venue in 2024.

1. Poor away record

Arsenal’s recent away record against Italian teams in European competitions have been quite poor. The Gunners have won just one of their last six away matches against Italian teams with four losses and a draw. Inter Milan are away of this record and would look to extend the run of losses on Tuesday.

2. Inter Milan’s attack

Arsenal have not given away many goals this season in the competition with just one goal conceded. But William Saliba, Gabriel, Jurrien Timber, and Ben White are up against a side who have scored 44 goals in the Serie A this season.
Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, and Hakan Calhanoglu have been instrumental to Inter Milan’s goals this season and will look to exploit gaps in Arsenal’s defense.

3. Arsenal’s struggle against low blocks

Arsenal’s unbeaten run includes recent 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest and Liverpool but their struggles against low and compact blocks were evident in these games as they showing couldn’t break down low blocks coupled with poor finishing. Inter Milan is a formidable position capable of doing the same and hitting the Gunners on fast breaks.
