Novak Djokovic defeated Daniil Medvedev to lift the US Open and his 24th Grand Slam title in three straight sets 6:3, 7:6, 6:3. He has now won three out of the four Grand Slam of the tennis calendar year.

Novak broke his own record of 23 Slams to go two ahead of Rafael Nadal who is on 22. He has now equaled Margaret Court’s record and his likely to become the all time Grand Slam holder in the sport. The Serb also became oldest player to win a Grand Slam title at the age of 36 years and 111 days.

Medvedev crashed the mouth watering prospect of having a Djokovic and Alcaraz final couldn’t stop Novak as he was broken twice in the first set. The second set was tighter as both players held their serves and had to take it to tie break which Djokovic won. Djokovic lost one game but also broke the Russian twice to wrap up the match.

One of Djokovic’s defining qualities is his mental toughness. He has an uncanny ability to maintain focus and composure under immense pressure, often turning the tide of matches in his favor when it matters most. Whether it’s saving match points, coming back from two sets down, or prevailing in marathon rallies, Djokovic’s mental resilience has been a cornerstone of his success.

With his dedication and hunger at Grand slams it’s looking like Novak would extend this record and become the greatest tennis player of all time. Novak will become the new world number one with the title and will dethrone Carlos Alcaraz.
