Nigeria Premier Football League champions Remo Stars have announced the appointment of Olumide Ajibolade as the club’s new head coach.
Ajibolade takes over after establishing himself as one of the most successful coaches within the Remo Stars Sports Club structure, following years of remarkable achievements in youth development and team management.
The 40-year-old joined the Remo Stars Academy in 2019 as the club’s U-17 head coach before taking charge of Beyond Limits Football Academy following its establishment in 2021.
During his time with Beyond Limits, Ajibolade transformed the academy into one of Nigeria’s leading football development institutions. His side won five TCC League titles in six seasons, claiming the championship in the 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24 and 2025/26 campaigns.
He also guided the academy to consecutive TCC Cup triumphs in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons, lifted the TCC Super Cup in 2025 and won the Ogun State FA Cup twice, in 2024 and 2026.
Ajibolade’s success extended into league football, leading Beyond Limits to promotion from the Nationwide League One (NLO) to the Nigeria National League (NNL) during the 2022/23 season before securing another promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) in 2023/24. That campaign ended with Beyond Limits being crowned NNL champions in Enugu.
On the international stage, he guided the academy to victory at the prestigious Viareggio Cup in Italy in 2024 before winning the Gothia Cup in Sweden in successive years in 2025 and 2026.
Widely recognised for his ability to develop young players, Ajibolade has overseen the progress of several talents who have gone on to secure professional careers across Europe and other parts of the world.
Remo Stars said the appointment reflects the club’s commitment to continuity, excellence and rewarding outstanding performance from within its football development system.
Ajibolade will now begin a new chapter with the Sky Blue Stars as they prepare for the new season, with expectations high following the club’s recent domestic success.
