Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has shared his insight on why he believes his current club is in a better position than his former team, Chelsea.
Since joining the Gunners in January 2022, Jorginho has been instrumental in their back-to-back second-place finishes in the Premier League, with the team poised for another strong challenge this season.
In contrast, Chelsea has experienced a tumultuous period, with four different managers at the helm since Jorginho’s departure. The Blues’ transfer policy has been criticized, and their sixth-place finish last season only secured a spot in the UEFA Conference League.
Despite his success at Chelsea, winning numerous titles including the Champions League and Europa League, Jorginho now argues that Arsenal’s mindset sets them apart.
“The only thing I can talk about is when Mikel is here,” he said on the Seaman Says podcast via Betway. “At Chelsea, in any context, any situation, Chelsea would get a trophy… something to take home.”
Jorginho emphasized the shift in mentality at Arsenal, saying,
“It didn’t happen at Arsenal before, but the mentality now is different because you can see the hunger of wanting to win. Sometimes it doesn’t work out, but the willingness and the hard work is there.”
