Josh Maja of the Super Eagles of Nigeria continued his stellar season by scoring in West Brom’s 3-0 victory over Portsmouth.
The first goal in the first minute was scored by the Nigerian international setting the tone of the game.
A brace from Alex Mowatt gave the Baggies a convincing win away from home.
Maja has been in fantastic form for the Baggies since he recovered from his injury, and he has five goals this season.
Tolu Arokodare on fire in Belgium
Tolulope Arokodare, a Nigerian international, was the MVP of KRC Genk’s 2-3 victory over Cercle Brugge on the road.
Yira Sor, a former Flying Eagles player, scored the first goal in the first minute, and Quattara leveled the score in the thirteenth.
Steukers, with help from Sor, gave Genk the lead back four minutes later.
Just before halftime, Ravych gave the home team an equalizer, and halfway through the second half, Arokodare gave the away team a safe cushion.
Prior to the transfer window closing, Arokodare was being considered for a move and has been an essential member of the team since the beginning of the season.
Maja and Arokodare continue to impress and make a case for their inclusion to the Super Eagles fold ahead of the next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
