The NFF has decided that Justin Madugu will lead the Super Falcons while Augustine Eguavoen continues as Super Eagles coach.
The recommendation of the Technical and Development Sub-Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation’s Executive Committee was approved.
Coach Augustine Eguavoen, the Federation’s Technical Director, will continue to lead the Super Eagles in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Libya.
In Matchdays 1 and 2 earlier this month, the 58-year-old, temporarily in command of the team he had captained three times before, guided the three-time African champions to a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and a scoreless draw with Rwanda.
Eguavoen will lead the Super Eagles B team throughout the qualification campaign for the CHAN, or the African Nations Championship, in addition to the present technical group, which also consists of Fidelis Ilechukwu, Daniel Ogunmodede, Olatunji Baruwa, and Tomaz Zorec.
Following Mr. Randy Waldrum’s resignation, the Executive Committee also accepted the Technical and Development Sub-Committee’s recommendation that Coach Justin Madugu take over as head coach of the Senior Women National Team, Super Falcons, and manage the remaining technical staff until a permanent head coach is appointed.
The Women’s Africa Cup of Nations finals will take place in Morocco in the summer of 2025 and will be the Super Falcons’ next major tournament.
