Newly created league, Lagos Liga has announced that Lagos-based football club, Sporting Lagos has joined the league.
Sporting Lagos is owned by Nigerian entrepreneur, Shola Akinlade and business consultant, Fola Olatunji David.
This revelation was made via the league’s official X account, garnering reactions from fans who excited at this announcement.
Sporting Lagos FC’s team will comprise fans & employees of the parent club, making it a true community-driven club.
According to its official website, Lagos Liga is one of Africa’s biggest private leagues where non-professional football players and ex-professionals come together to play 7-a-side football for big prizes and the fans come to win in the skills challenge.
The winner of Lagos Liga will go home with 50 million naira in cash prize, while the MVP, best supporter group and highest goal scorer will also be rewarded.
Sporting Lagos joins a host of other teams including Pulse Lions FC, Dominant Force Football Club, Tacha FC, Superstar FC and Jarus FC.
