Nigeria football fans have taken to popular social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to express their disappointment at Super Eagles shock defeat to Rwanda in Uyo.

The Super Eagles suffered an upset in the final game of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers as they lost 2-1 to Rwanda.

After an uninspiring and barren first half, substitute Samuel Chukwueze gave Nigeria the opener with a brillaint left-footed strike from a solo run.

Unfortunately, the team’s defensive frailties from defending set pieces occupied again as the visitors restored parity.

Ange Mutsinzi was left unmarked in the box as he scored with a header from Jojea Kwizera’s brilliant cross.

The match ended 2-1 in favour of the visitors as they earned a famous win over the Super Eagles.

Nigeria football fans have now taken to X to react to the shocking loss to the east African nation.

Popular social media influencer and activist Martins Otse labeled the team as “trash” in a post he shared on his Instagram page.

“Let’s call a spade a spade, super eagles na trash,big trash,they win games by mere luck and no be say na curse but this super eagles can’t win us any trophies.”

Another user, Abeembohlah asks who to blame on how the team can’t defend set pieces;

“Super Eagles of Nigeria conceded a goal from the corner kick against Benin in their last match, then conceded another goal from the corner kick in the next match (just four days after) against Rwanda. Who is to be blamed, coaches or the players?”

Numzy thinks that the team can’t qualify for the next world;

“Super Eagles with the kind of talents they have couldn’t beat Rwanda at home. If you think they will qualify for the World Cup or win the next AFCON this way, then you must be a clown😂😂”

King of the West on X beleives that the team lacks discipline,

OnosSpeaks believes the team needs a better midfielder;

“I watch today’s game,and I could see the Super Eagle’s midfield yearning for a commanding midfielder. A player who could command and dictate play in the center circle. We are over 150 millions yet we lack creative midfielders.I don’t know again. Na to sit-down dey look!”

Another usee says;

“The number one problem of the Super Eagles is indiscipline. From the Staffs to the players. Players go come Naija come dey form king, Dey move like influencers. Staffs go Dey do like slaves to them. Everybody go just dey do like ashiere.”

KiingDubem;

“Super eagles fit they play for my backyard make I no leave parlor self”
