Super Eagles home-based team, the CHAN Eagles will play two more friendly matches to spice up preparations for the final round of qualifier against Ghana as reported by Samuel Areo.
Recall that the team defeated Grassrunners FC 1-0 in their first friendly match on Sunday courtesy of Papa Daniel’s 92nd minute penalty.
The CHAN Eagles have been preparing for the two-legged qualifier since November with two phases of camping, Abuja and Ikenne.
The team are currently camped at the Remo Stars training facility where they will play the two friendly matches before traveling to Accra.
A total of 29 players tool part in yesterday’s training session led by Super Eagles interim assistant coaches Fidelis Ilechukwu and Daniel Ogunmodede.
The first leg of the qualifier is billed for 22 December at the Accra Sports Stadium while the second leg will be played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on 28 December, 2024.
Nigeria’s last appearance at the tournament was in 2018 where they finished second behind host Morocco.
Ghana stopped the CHAN Eagles from qualifying for the 2022 edition as they secured a 5-4 penalty shootout win after a 2-2 aggregate scoreline.
