Former Chelsea and Nigerian international John Obi Mikel visited Galatasaray’s training facility in Istanbul, where he met with compatriot and striker Victor Osimhen.
In pictures shared online, Mikel is seen recording a podcast episode with the Galatasaray talisman and was gifted a jersey by Osimhen.
Osimhen, currently on a season-long loan at Galatasaray, has been linked with several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United. Despite these links, the striker has expressed a desire to complete his loan spell in Turkey.
Mikel’s visit has sparked speculation about his intentions, particularly regarding Osimhen’s future. Previously, Mikel has been vocal about his desire to see Osimhen join Chelsea, stating, “I hope that Chelsea fans will finally see him come to the club. I’ll make sure I send him those text messages and calls, making sure Chelsea is his top priority.”
The club’s current forward, Nicolas Jackson, has faced criticism especially from Mikel for his performances, leading to increased speculation about potential reinforcements.
As the January transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Mikel’s influence will impact Osimhen’s decisions regarding his future.
