Taiwo Awoniyi would probably be on the sidelines for a short period following an injury in Nottingham Forest’s FA Cup win at Exeter on Tuesday night.
The Super Eagles striker scored his second goal of the season in the two-all draw before the Tricky Tress progressed to the fifth round 4-2 on penalties.
Awoniyi gave Nottingham Forest the lead in the 37th minute with a left-footed strike from the edge of the box before Josh Magennis equalized for the home side five minutes into the second half.
Unfortunately, Awoniyi suffered a nose injury before the end of the match while attempting an aerial challenge.
Nottingham Forest boss, Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed Awoniyi’s injury in a post-match address.
Awoniyi’s game time has significantly reduced this season in the league due to Chris Wood’s goal-scoring form.
The New Zealand striker is the club’s highest goal scorer this season with 17 goals.
Awoniyi has not been linked with a move away from the club yet, but the striker might consider taking up a new challenge in the summer as he looks to stay fit and get regular playtime.
