A Kaoru Mitoma stunner and Yankuba Minteh brace earned Brighton & Hove Albion a 3-0 win over Chelsea in the Premier League, as the Seagulls recorded a second victory against the Blues in less than 7 days.
The hosts took the lead through Mitoma’s sublime strike, conjured from a brilliant touch to bring down Bart Verbruggen’s long pass.
Chelsea’s frustration grew as Enzo Fernández’s headed goal was ruled out for a foul, and Brighton doubled their lead right after. Levi Colwill’s interception was diverted towards Danny Welbeck, who set up Jeremy Minteh to finish calmly.
Minteh sealed his brace in the 63rd minute, linking up with Welbeck and beating Cucurella before firing past Filip Jörgensen with a deflection off Trevoh Chalobah.
Chelsea’s woes continued, and they were lucky Mitoma and João Pedro missed chances to add to the scoring.
The win extended Chelsea’s poor away record, with just two wins from their last eight league matches.
