Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong sent a congratulatory message to Nigeria’s under-20 men’s football team, the Flying Eagles, after qualifying for the last eight of the ongoing Nations Cup in Egypt.
Troost-Ekong had a live chat with the boys after the match against Kenya and posted the receipt on his Snapchat story.
“The boys are ready! Keep pushing. “You boys are making us proud! We dey together.”
The Flying Eagles secured qualification for the quarter-final after five points from a possible nine in Group B of the competition.
Nigeria started their campaign with a 1-0 win over Tunisia, and a goalless draw against Morocco and Kenya in their final group match on Wednesday.
The seven-time champions finished second behind group winners Morocco, who gained seven points.
The semi-finalists of the competition will qualify for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Chile later in the year.
