Bono steals show as Al Hilal hold Real Madrid in Club World Cup

Moroccan goalkeeper Bono ensured that Xabi Alonso’s first match as Real Madrid manager didn’t end in a win.

The former Sevilla shot stopper saved a 92 minute penalty to secure a a point for Al Hilal on  Wednesday afternoon.

Bono, the 34-year-old made significant saves in the match as Al Hilal forced a one-all draw against the 15-time European champions.

Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes out Los Blanco’s ahead in the 34the minute as he put the ball beyond Bono’s reach after a swift counter attack.

However, Al Hilal got back into the match 10 minutes later as Raul Asencio gave away a penalty.

Former Wolves midfielder, Ruben Neves scored form the spot like he did in the final of the UEafA Nations League.

Neves sent Courtois the wrong as he buried the ball into the right corner to restore parity for Al Hilal.

While Real Madrid dominated proceedings on the second half Al Hilal remained resolute in defense thanks to Bono and the awareness of Kalidou Koulibaly and Hassan Tambakti.

Bono secured a point for Simone Inzaghi’s new team as he pulled off a double save to deny Federico Valverde from scoring the winner.

The Morocco goalkeeper stopped Real Madrid’s from winning 12 consecutive win at the FIFA Club World Cup.
