Super Falcons forward, Toni Payne used a single, powerful word to describe some of her Nigerian teammates in a trivia.
The clip, recently shared on ESPN’s social platforms, showcases Payne reflecting on the bold mentality and resilient attitude she sees in several members of the squad.
Payne reserved the playful moniker “British” for defender Ashleigh Plumptre, an affectionate nod to her Leicester upbringing, while veteran Onome Ebi was tagged “leadership,” and Michelle Alozie labeled “fashionable”.
Keeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie was tagged “hilarious”, Rasheedat Ajibade “empathetic” and Asisat Oshoala “stylish”.
That off‑pitch camaraderie has translated into controlled brilliance on the field. Payne was in action as the Super Falcons began Group B in style, defeating Tunisia 3–0 in their opening fixture at Larbi Zaouli Stadium.
