Super Falcons coach Justin Madugu has told fans not to get carried away after the team’s stellar performance against the Copper Queens of Zambia.
The Super Falcons put up a fantastic display on Friday evening as they thrashed their opponents 5-0 to progress to the final four of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Esther Okoronkwo and captain of the side Rasheedat Ajibade had two assists reach in the decimation of the Zambians.
While addressing the media after the match, Justin Madugu says his team is still “a work in progress” as they continue to improve in certain areas.
The nine-time champions came under criticisms after their group stage matches for their uninspiring display.
When asked what inspired their commendable display against the Copper Queens, Justin Madugu revealed that the team capitalised on Zambia’s weaknesses.
He also added that the team were in high spirits leading up to the fixture which resulted in a comfortable win.
The Super Falcons will take on either defending champions South Africa or Senegal in the semi-finals as they set their target on “Mission X”.
