Usyk knocks out Dubois to reclaim undisputed heavyweight crown

Oleksandr Usyk delivered a commanding performance at Wembley Stadium in London today, defeating Daniel Dubois with a brutal fifth-round knockout to reclaim his status as the undisputed heavyweight champion.

The Ukrainian southpaw was in complete control from the opening bell, outclassing Dubois with his superior footwork, timing, and ring intelligence.

Usyk, who previously held the IBF, WBA, WBO, and WBC titles, returned to the ring with purpose and poise. In the first four rounds, he kept Dubois at bay with a sharp jab and slick lateral movement, frustrating the British fighter and limiting his opportunities to land anything meaningful.

Dubois, despite a spirited start, struggled to cut off the ring and often found himself lunging forward into counters.

The decisive moment came in the fifth round. Usyk dropped Dubois with a clean right hand that landed flush on the chin, sending the challenger to the canvas.

With the win, Usyk not only retained the WBA, WBO, and WBC belts but also regained the IBF title, which had been stripped earlier due to a mandatory challenger conflict.

He now becomes the first fighter in boxing’s four-belt era to be undisputed champion in two weight divisions, the cruiserweight and heavyweight.

After the fight, Usyk dedicated the victory to the people of Ukraine, expressing gratitude for their support amid the country’s ongoing struggles.

He also hinted at taking time off to spend with his family before considering future opponents, which could include high-profile names like Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, or Joseph Parker.
