Gyökeres guns down Leeds as Arsenal hit Five at the Emirates

Arsenal marked their Premier League homecoming in spectacular style, sweeping aside Leeds United 5–0 with a dominant display of attacking football at the Emirates.

The Gunners seized control early on and never looked back. Jurrien Timber, more renowned for his defensive work, was the unlikely hero in front of goal, heading in the opener from a corner. He got his second goal of the game in the 56th minute of the game from a Ricardo Calafiori assist.

Bukayo Saka doubled the advantage before the break with a trademark finish, capping a sweeping move that left Leeds chasing shadows. But the England star limped off in the second half with what appeared to be a hamstring problem, shortly after captain, Martin Ødegaard had been forced off with a shoulder injury.

New signing, Viktor Gyökeres gave the home fans more reason to cheer, showcasing his clinical instincts with two goals of his own. His first came from a composed strike inside the box, while his second arrived from the penalty spot after 15-year-old debutant Max Dowman —making history as the second-youngest Premier League player ever—was fouled in the area.
