The Super Eagles of Nigeria have landed in Bloemfontein, South Africa, and were greeted by a rousing welcome ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Bafana Bafana on Tuesday.

Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the Republic of South Africa, Tope Ajayi, along with members of the Nigerian community, welcomed the team on Sunday evening.

Led by their president, Smart Nwobi, the Nigerian community turned out in impressive numbers, dressed in traditional attire, to cheer on their national team with drumming, singing, and dancing.

The squad consists of 22 players, as well as the technical and administrative staff. The only notable absentee is star forward Victor Osimhen, who sustained an injury during Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Rwanda in Uyo.

Despite his absence, the team remains focused on the task at hand and is scheduled for an official training session at the Toyota Stadium at 6 pm on Monday.
