The president of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe, will be in Dakar this Tuesday in a bid to calm rising tensions following the invalidation of Senegal’s African Champions title.
The decision, taken by the CAF Appeals Committee, has sparked strong reactions within Senegal’s football community and beyond, raising concerns over governance and fairness in African football.
Motsepe is expected to hold high-level talks with Senegal’s Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, as well as the president of the Senegalese Football Federation, Abdoulaye Fall.
The meetings are aimed at addressing the fallout from the ruling and exploring possible resolutions to ease tensions between CAF and Senegalese football authorities.
The outcome of these discussions could play a key role in restoring confidence and stability, as stakeholders await clarity on the controversial decision.
