Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman as a replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Salah has been exceptional since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, contributing 241 goals and 109 assists in 387 appearances.
However, his contract is up at the end of the season, and despite Salah’s willingness to remain on Merseyside, Liverpool are reportedly unwilling to meet his contract demands.
According to Transfer News Live, Lookman is a top target for Liverpool. The 27-year-old Super Eagles striker has been one of the hottest players in Europe over the past 12 months, ending 2024 as the CAF Player of the Year.
Lookman’s contract expires in 2026, and there is an understanding from Atalanta that this will be the striker’s last season.
A move to Liverpool will certainly not come cheap, but if there’s one player who can fill the void left by Salah, Lookman will be a perfect fit.
