Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze has been ruled out of AC Milan’s upcoming Europa League fixture against Bournemouth after sustaining a left hip injury.
The 27-year-old felt pain in his left hip following Milan’s dramatic 3-2 Serie A victory over Atalanta and subsequently missed training. Italian reports indicate the Super Eagles winger could be sidelined for several weeks, with some suggestions the absence may stretch into a few months depending on the severity.
Chukwueze’s unavailability comes as a significant blow to Milan coach Ruben Amorim, who is already dealing with another attacking absence. Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos is also out with a calf problem, further stretching the squad’s options in the final third.
The Nigerian forward has been an important part of Milan’s attacking setup this season, providing pace, creativity and goal threat from the flanks. His absence will force Amorim to reshuffle his attacking options as the Rossoneri prepare for the Europa League assignment against the English side.
Milan will now assess the full extent of Chukwueze’s hip issue in the coming days to determine a clearer recovery timeline.
