Captain William Ekong, the hot-shot Ademola Lookman, in-form winger Moses Simon, and twenty-one other players have been called up by head coach Augustine Eguavoen for this month’s home-and-away 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.
On the roster are midfielders Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika and Alex Iwobi.
Goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali and Maduka Okoya; defenders Oluwasemilogo Ajayi and Calvin Bassey; and strikers Taiwo Awoniyi, Victor Boniface, and Samuel Chukwueze are also included.
Victor Osimhen, the reigning Africa Player of the Year, is missing due to injury.
However, defender Bright Osayi-Samuel and playmaker Chidera Ejuke who missed the team’s matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda last month, are back.
On Monday, October 7, all players invited are due to report to Uyo.
On Friday, October 11, the Super Eagles will play the Mediterranean Knights at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
On Tuesday, October 15, the team will travel to Benghazi to play the Knights at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium, which is located 19 kilometers from Benghazi.
