Career Path
Ahmed Musa started his football career at GBS Football Academy and stayed at the club for the team between 2008 and 2010. He joined the Jos University Teaching Hospital football team (Juth FC) and Kano Pillars on loan spells in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
Musa announced himself to the Nigerian football scene at Kano Pillars where he set the record of the most goals scored in the league -18. His exploits at Kano Pillars attracted a good number of clubs from Europe that summer but he settled for Dutch side VVV Venlo.

Ahmed Musa joined VVV Venlo in the summer of 2010 but could not play immediately being only 17 and couldn’t be issued an International Transfer Certificate (ITC). However, Musa turned 18 months later and was eligible to make an appearance for the Dutch Eredivisie side.
He made his debut against Groningen on October 30 and won a penalty in the 50th minute as VVV Venlo lost at home 5-3. Ahmed Musa scored his debut goal for VVV Venlo in a 6-1 loss away at AZ Alkmaar on 29 January 2011.

VVV Venlo went on a poor run of form but continued to impress for the club. He bagged a brace against Feyenoord in a 3-2 win as he ended the fears of the club relegating to the Dutch top-flight league.
Top clubs in Europe noticed Ahmed Musa’s brilliant performance at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Colombia where he helped the Flying Eagles to a quarter-final place.
Hai Berden, the then VVV Venlo chairman revealed that the club rejected a €10 million bid for Ahmed Musa from a Bundesliga team.

Ahmed Musa joined Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr in 2018 and did quite well for the club. He won the Saudi Pro League and the Saudi Cup in 2019. Super Eagles
He debuted for the Super Eagles during a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar but scored his first goal in a friendly match against Kenya in 2011.
Musa narrowly missed out on the 2010 FIFA World Cup provisional list due to an ankle injury after his brilliant exploits at the 2010 WAFU Cup where he scored two goals as Nigeria lifted the trophy.
He represented Nigeria at the 2011 African Youths Championship.
