Dutch giants Ajax have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a season-long loan for the 2026/27 campaign.
The Premier League club confirmed on Tuesday that the Eredivisie side will have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
Arokodare joined Wolves from Belgian club Genk in September 2025 and made 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals during his debut campaign at Molineux. Three of those goals came in the Premier League, with his last strike arriving in March against Brentford.
Despite featuring in Wolves’ final game of the season, the 25-year-old found regular starts difficult to come by towards the end of the campaign, starting just one of the club’s last 10 matches.
The loan move offers the Nigerian international the opportunity for more consistent first-team football at Ajax, who finished fifth in the Eredivisie last season.
The Amsterdam club are also in contention to play in European competition this season, with a place in the UEFA Conference League dependent on successfully navigating the qualifying play-offs.
Arokodare will now look to revive his form in the Netherlands as Ajax strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
