Nigerian sprinter, Kanyinsola Ajayi has taken to social media to celebrate a remarkable season that firmly established him among the world’s fastest men.
In an emotional reflection, Ajayi highlighted the milestones that made his breakout year one to remember, calling it a “season to be grateful for.”
Ajayi recorded the six fastest 100m times of his career this year, all of them legal sub-10-second performances. He also ranked among the six fastest athletes in the world over the distance during the campaign.
His achievements place him in elite Nigerian company. Ajayi became the third-fastest Nigerian in history and tied the national record in the 60m. He also set new school records in both the 60m and 100m, advancing his status on the collegiate circuit.
On the global stage, he reached the World Championships final, underlining his emergence as a genuine contender in major competitions. His times also made him the fastest man in AU (African Union) history.

Reflecting on the season, Ajayi described it as merely the beginning of a bigger journey:
“Chasing greatness, breaking limits, and leaving no doubts on the track. This season was just the beginning — watch me rise higher.”
He expressed deep gratitude for the progress he has made, crediting faith and support from his inner circle:
“Grateful for every moment and every step forward. Grateful to God for guiding me throughout this journey. Big shoutout to my coach @afrikentiger, my family, and @zupco.express.athletics. Appreciate y’all for trusting me and always pushing me to be that man. Without y’all, this journey might not have been as smooth and successful as it seems.”
With his sights set on greater heights, the sprint star is determined to build on his record-breaking momentum next season.
