Atlético Madrid Femenino faced Levante Badalona Femenino at Camp Municipal de Badalona in an intense league encounter that ended in a 1-1 draw.

Atlético began the match with purpose, aiming to bounce back from recent inconsistent performances. Their attacking intent bore fruit midway through the first half when Rasheedat Ajibade found the back of the net in the 16th minute.

The Nigerian international latched onto a well-weighted pass from Fiamma Iannuzzi and calmly slotted the ball past the Badalona goalkeeper.

Despite taking the lead, Atlético struggled to maintain control of the game. Their midfield failed to sustain pressure, and Badalona began to grow into the contest, testing the visitors’ defense with a series of probing runs and crosses.

Badalona emerged rejuvenated after the break, and their determination paid off in the 58th minute. Maca Portales, instrumental throughout the game, delivered a pinpoint cross into the box, which Irina Uribe expertly converted with a powerful header. The equalizer was a testament to Badalona’s resilience and highlighted Atlético’s defensive frailties.

Atlético struggled to regain their rhythm as the hosts upped the tempo, creating additional chances. Goalkeeper Lola Gallardo was called into action multiple times to deny Badalona a second goal.

Meanwhile, Atlético’s attacking efforts were disjointed, with Ajibade and Ludmila Da Silva unable to capitalize on the limited opportunities created. The final minutes of the match were tense, with both sides pushing for a winner.

Atlético’s best chance fell to Ajibade again, but her effort was brilliantly saved by the Badalona goalkeeper. At the other end, Badalona nearly snatched all three points, but a last-ditch clearance from Laia Aleixandri kept Atlético in the game.

The draw extends Atlético’s winless streak in the league to three games, further denting their hopes of solidifying a Champions League spot. Currently sitting in fourth place, Atlético face mounting pressure as Real Sociedad and Athletic Club close in, just three points behind.

With the Supercopa de España semifinal looming, Atlético Madrid Femenino must address their defensive lapses and return to winning ways.
