Akor Adams scores late winner to keep Sevilla out of relegation zone

Akor Adams scored in added time of the 90 to help Sevilla secure a vital home win over Espanyol in their fight for survival in the Spanish La Liga.

Adams came in as a substitute for Ruben Vargas in the 75th minute and fired the home side to victory with a one-time shot.

Former Arsenal and Manchester United forward, Alexis Sanchez had earlier given the host the lead but his goal was ruled offside by the video assistant referee.

Twenty-four-year-old English forward Tyrhys Dolan gave the visitors the lead in the 56th minute a minute after forcing a save off Odysseas Vlachidimos.

Tyrhys Dolan received a lifted pass from Roberto Fernandez Jean and buried a shot into the bottom left corner.

Spanish defender Castron grabbed the equaliser eight minutes from time from a solo effort to bring Sevilla back into the tie.

Akor Adams sealed the win in the 91st minute with a one-time strike into the bottom corner off a pass from Alexis Sanchez.

The win takes them to 12th on the table with 40 points after 35 matches.

Survival will hope to get positive results against Villarreal, Real Madrid and Celta Vigo to confirm their stay in the La Liga next season.
