Arsenal scored from two corner-kicks to edge Chelsea in the London Derby on Sunday evening at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners came into the tie desperate for a win after Manchester City reduced their gap to two points with the win over Leeds United on Saturday.

William Saliba put Arsenal ahead after 21 minutes with a header into the back of the net from another header from Gabriel Magalhães.

Jurrien Timber almost doubled the lead for the host from a solo run into the box but Robert Sanchez was alert to make an easy save.

Chelsea grabbed the equaliser in added time of the first half as Porto Hincapie inadvertently turned the ball into his own net from a corner kick.

A few minutes into the second half, David Raya denied João Pedro from putting Chelsea ahead in the tie as he parried his corner away from goal.

Jurrien Timber eventually got his goal from a corner as he met Declan Rice’s ball into the six-yard box with a header into the middle of goal leaving Sanchez helpless.

Raya put up another brilliant save late in the game denying Alejandro Garnacho’s effort into the far corner.

Darren England, the center referee waved off Chelsea’s claim for a penalty before Hincapie’s own goal after Declan Rice visibly pinned down Jorrel Hato in the box and elbowed the ball away from a cross in the process.

Arsenal escaped with the victory with the skin of their teeth as the video assistant referee disallowed Liam Delap’s goal for offside in added time of the regulation time.

The win restores Arsenal’s five-point gap over Manchester City with nine matches left before the end of the season.
