Leandro Trossard’s second half goal secured maximum points for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The Gunners went into the tie looking to extend their winning run across all competitions in their first fixture after the international break.
Arsenal controlled possession for most part of the first half but struggled to break down Marco Silva’s men.
Swedish striker, Viktor Gyokores came close to giving Arsenal the lead in the 37th minute but Bernd Leno pulled off a delightful save to deny him.
The first half ended on a stalemate with the visitors in control of proceedings but little action up front.
However, Leandro Trossard broke the deadlock just before the hour mark as he pounced on a rebound to give the Gunners the lead.
Trossard’s goal was just enough to give Arsenal the needed three points to seal the win as they return to the summit of the league with 19 points.
