Arsenal came back from an early setback to defeat Brentford 3-1 and close the gap on league leaders Liverpool.
Despite starting on the front foot, the visitors were stunned by an early blow.
Bryan Mbeumo’s brilliant finish in the 13th minute gave the Bees the lead to send the home fans into a frenzy.
However, Mikel Arteta’s men equalized shortly after through Gabriel Jesus, who has now scored 6 goals in his last 4 games.
The Gunners took control in the second half, scoring two goals in quick succession. Mikel Merino slammed in a loose ball from a corner in the 49th minute, and Gabriel Martinelli dispatched a strike beyond Mark Flekken four minutes later.
Arsenal’s win moves them within six points of leaders Liverpool, while Brentford suffered their fourth consecutive home defeat against their London rivals.
The Gunners will now look to keep pushing Liverpool as far as possible in the hopes of cutting into that six-point lead.
