Nigeria international Ashleigh Plumptre has signed a contract extension with Saudi Women’s Premier League side Al Ittihad Ladies, committing her future to the club until 2028.
The 28-year-old defender, who joined Al Ittihad in 2023, has become a key figure for the Jeddah-based club with her leadership, defensive solidity and versatility across the backline.
Al Ittihad confirmed the extension on Thursday, bringing an end to speculation surrounding the future of the Super Falcons star. The new deal will keep Plumptre at the club for at least three more years as Al Ittihad continue to strengthen their ambitions in Saudi women’s football.
Since arriving in Saudi Arabia, Plumptre has played an important role in the growth of the women’s game in the country while maintaining her status as one of Nigeria’s most influential players.
The former Leicester City defender remains a crucial member of the Super Falcons setup although missing out from this year’s WAFCON due to injury.
Plumptre’s new agreement will see her remain with Al Ittihad Ladies until the end of the 2028 season.
