Bayer Munich are in pole position to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League after a comfortable first leg win over Bayer Leverkusen.

The Barbarians recorded a 3-0 win at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night courtesy of Harry Kane’s brace and Jamal Musiala’s goal in the second half.

Vincent Kompany’s men stated the game with a clear intention to win and the first goal of the night came nine minutes into the match.

Harry Kane met Micheal Olise’s cross with a close range bullet header to give Bayern Munich the lead.

Xabi Alonso left out Victor Boniface, Patrick Schick and in form Nathan Tella on the bench which saw the league champions struggled to threaten Bayern Munich’s defense.

Bayer Leverkusen registered just a shot on target in the first half and one in the second on a disappointing night for Xabi Alonso’s team.

Jamal Musiala scores ten minutes after the restart to double the lead as he took advantage of Matej Kovar’s catastrophic error.

Bayer Leverkusen’s night went from bad to irredeemable as French wing-back Nordi Mukiele got his marching orders after a second bookable offense.

Harry Kane converted a 75th minute penalty after a VAR review to give the Bayern Munich the final goal of the night and a comprehensive victory ahead of the second leg at the Bay Arena.

The English striker bagged the Man of the Match award as he takes his goals tally in the competition to nine.
