Bayer Leverkusen winger/attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz says he is not unaware of the number of clubs interested in signing him this summer.
The German international added that he is lucky to have top European teams linked to him but he is happy to be playing for one of the best teams in Germany and Europe.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder shared his thoughts with Sports Illustrated as the interest from Bayern Munich and other top clubs continues to grow.
“I’m lucky to have so many excellent clubs right on my doorstep and to now be able to play for one of the best clubs in Germany and Europe”.
Wirtz says he is tempted to make a move away from Bayer Leverkusen, and if he does, he will comfortably settle in well into any team he joins.
“It’s definitely tempting for me to leave my comfort zone at some point and experience something new. I know the football dressing rooms well enough and am convinced that I would quickly find my place anywhere”
Florian Wirtz has been a subject of interest from top clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, but newly-crowned German Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich, seems to be leading the race.
Wirtz is reportedly valued at €120 million and has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen until the summer of 2027.
The 21-year-old is a dynamic attacking talent with the ability to play on either side of the flanks and also behind the striker.
With the ball glued to his feet and sheer level of pace, Wirtz is never afraid to take on defenders in 1 v 1 situations.
Florian Wirtz, despite Bayer Leverkusen’s topsy-turvy form this season, has decent numbers with 29-goal involvements for Xabi Alonso’s side in 43 matches so far.
