Bendel Insurance hold Enyimba to stalemate in Eguma’s first game in charge

Enyimba’s winless run continues as the Aba Elephants were held to a goalless draw by Bendel Insurance in the last NPFL fixture of the year.

The Aba Elephants didn’t enjoy the “new manager bounce” with Stanley Eguma on the sidelines for the first time after his unveiling over the weekend.

The nine-time champions dominated the match in both halves but could not find a breakthrough as the visitors defended for the lives.

Enyimba had seven shots on targets as they created loads of chances but none went past Joshua Baba who had a busy day in between the sticks for the visitors.

The introduction of former Super Eagles striker and AFCON 2013 winner Brown Ideye didn’t change the fortunes of Enyimba unfortunately.

The match ended in a frustrating goalless draw as Enyimba’s winless run extends to 10 matches across all competitions.

Enyimba end the year 9th on the Nigeria Premier Football League table with 24 points.

However, the Aba Elephants have three outstanding matches going into the new year as Stanley Eguma look to turn the fortunes of the former champions around.
